Yesterday, there was this huge commotion in my area...People were supposed to light lamps, 1,25,000 of them for WORLD PEACE, now where did i hear it last? aaah Miss congeniality, hmmm....Impressive no doubt...But it had me thinking, what was the occasion? There were no terrorist attacks recently?, then why this hullabaloo, kept me wondering....yes there was a T.V crew, there were sponsors and celebrities. Not surprising coz in India no event can take place without atleast a pinch of celebrity content in them....
Now I beg to differ and I am sure there will be a lot out there who disagree with me...but i still believe it made no sense to organise this in a small locality like mine where the last act of terrorism occured around 1973 when a thief robbed a empty house (if that can be deemed an act of terrorism), I really believe it made no sense in organising such an event in my area, instead of either doin it in a war stricken area or a area where there was communal disharmony....and what about all the money spent? why not use that money to build better infrastructure or help the poor?

I am glad you noticed the futility of such gimmicks that occur day in and day out.
But i cant help pointing to an important point that ur missing here. The lights...1,25,000 lamps that were lit are for the hundreds and thousands of spy satellites that Big Brother is using to peep into our bathrooms(I stopped shaggin for fear of REMOTELY Impregnating a white whore across the seas).
You see the the light is for THE prickly BUSH...perhaps the biggest vouyer freak on earth...so that he gives us a discount on one of those Jets they wanna sell to ironically both sides of the border....wats that name...F***K - 16 or smthg....so that they REST is IN PEACE....n we in pieces.
Well Gorilla if u feel that they spent ....just think as to how much they got in sponsorships.
They can now buy clothes and make gorillas wear them and make them look like humans. Once that done they can take them to the parliament and then run the country to organize more of such bullshit!

i'm not so sure i'd agree with you.. yeah the money could've been spent on more useful purposes like education or feeding the poor.. but thats besides the point..
i don't agree on the statement that to pray or ask for world peace they need to be in a place where there's turmoil or terror...
its like if someone's in the hospital its not necessary to be in the hospital to pray for them or to wish them well.. a prayer can be done anywhere..

After reading it I believe it had nothing to do with world peace but only a social gathering for celebs... I think they wanted a change, They must be feeling guilty about their lifestyle after the release of "Page 3". So for a change.....
